An inside look at the evolution of the Black Power Movement from 1967-1975. The Black Power Mixtape combines music, and contemporary audio interviews from leading African-American artists, activists, musicians and scholars.
When The Black Power Movement’s first started to rise up during the 60s and 70s, Swedish Television journalists started to document and record the unfolding cultural revolution for audiences back home, after being granted access to the prominent leaders including Black Panthers founders Huey P, Angela Davis & SNCC’s Stokely Carmichael.
Now, after more than 30-years locked up in storage, this film brings us never-before-seen footage of Black Power. Film-maker Goran Hugo Olsson presents key figures and events in the movement.
