Synopsis

Fairies have appeared in many cultures, including that of the ancient Celts, and Shakespeare utilized them in his plays. The Fairy Faith is a documentary that takes us beyond the famous Hollywood fairies like Peter Pan and the Fairy Godmother of Cinderella, to the old Scottish, English, and Irish country, surveying the origins of the enduring belief in the creatures.

Narrated by John Walker, The Fairy Faith includes interviews about fairy encounters, both from old folklore, and first person accounts, along with visits to alleged fairy sites, and how the fairy faith fits into these communities.

John Walker also investigates the manner in which fairies are depicted in art and literature, and talks with some individuals who say they can see into the world of fairies. The film offers viewers an introduction to fairy folklore, and an amazing piece of cultural heritage that is quickly disappearing in today’s societies.
