White Wash

Synopsis

What is the genetic difference between people of different skin colors — black, white, Hispanic, Asian? Nothing. It turns out that we all share 99.99 percent of the same genetic code.

So, no matter what the color of your skin is, race is more of a social concept, not a scientific one. White Wash uses amateur footage collected over the course of several years to explore the subject of racism and what it means to be white in 21st century America.

Recording the everyday voices of white people, as well as experienced anti-racist white activists – reflecting on racism, and white identity. The film is intended to be for education purposes and hopes to spark dialogue both within and across racial groups.
