Crossing the Line: North Korea
Crossing the Line tells the unique story of United States Army Private James Joseph Dresnok who crossed a demilitarized zone scattered with minefields and defected to the enemy North Korea during the Cold War.
Dresnok has spent most of his life living, working and raising his family in North Korea, and was given the nickname Comrade Joe by Western media after he disappeared at the height of the Cold War, remaining a man of eternally divided loyalties.
From his rough upbringing in foster in the 1950’s to interviews with those who served with the GI, the documentary combines historical footage with contemporary interviews to both uncover the Kim-Jong Il regime and end 45 years of secrecy and rumor by letting Dresnok tell his story.
